Sarah was a very keen member of the Waveney Harriers Pony Club riding on teams on various different horses, she too had the eventing bug so after several successes on her own horse was offered what was one of the most sort after jobs at the time ,training/ riding for Major Alhusen (team gold medallist and individual silver medallist on Lochinvar1968.

Trainer of Laurieston, Richard Meade’s 1972 gold medal ride)were she was lucky enough to have the chance to compete on many of his horses before they were sent off to more experience top riders or Juniors. The years spent with the Alhusens were enjoyable, at times very exacting, but the experience gained for the future was invaluable.
